Audio of El Morro in Old San Juan.
El Morro is one of the most preserved colonial traces in Puerto Rico (in addition to socio-political status). This structure is located on top of a beautiful hill overlooking the Bay of San Juan. From there, one of the main functions was to defend the entrance to San Juan from attack by foreign ships. In addition, it was a place used to imprison different Puerto Rican political figures. Currently the structure serves as a museum and is one of the most visited places in Puerto Rico.
